Days by Lake Selura

Things to do at Egenes Camping

Your swimwear may get more use than the car keys. Selura, two sandy beaches and a little rivalry on the mini golf course leave plenty of room for a day without a timetable.

A beach day with time to pause

Two sandy beaches offer places to swim and to sit out for a while. Bring your towel and make the walk down to the water your first outing of the day.

Picnic benches are dotted around the campsite. Find one by the lake for lunch or coffee while the rest of your group fits in another swim.

Back on dry land

Two playgrounds give children places to meet between swims.

Who is blaming the putter?

A round of mini golf can soon lead to a rematch. Keep score and see who makes it round in the fewest strokes.

Football or volleyball?

Get your group together for an informal game. You can play football and volleyball on site, with croquet another option for time on dry land.

See Selura by paddle or pedal

Hire a canoe or kayak from us and look back at Egenes from the lake. The beaches, houses and mountains take on a different shape from the water.

Or take a pedalo onto Selura. Let your feet do the work and set your own pace.

Supper after the last swim

Light one of the shared barbecues and bring everyone together for a meal outside. Picnic benches stand around the campsite, including by the water, with room to linger after eating.

Use the barbecues only when conditions allow. Keep suitable firefighting equipment to hand and follow signs and any fire bans.

Time for an ice cream

Take coffee and a baguette to a bench by the lake, or pop in for an ice cream, slush drink or something cold. The shop also stocks sweets, simple sandwich fillings and small essentials for your stay.

During the school summer holidays, the shop is normally open from morning to evening. Hours are shorter before and after the main season.

The sauna at Rixen

The wood-fired barrel sauna at Rixen stands beside Selura and is open all year. It offers a warm finish to a cold dip.

The sauna is run by Flekkefjord Badstuforening. Booking is through the association's membership scheme, and sauna use is not included in your accommodation.

Bring a fishing rod or walking boots

Bring your fishing rod to Selura. Fishing permits are sold here at Egenes.

Give the walking boots a day out

The demanding walk to Simonskyrkja starts from Egenes. For a woodland loop or a trip towards the coast, our walking guide brings together more routes, overview maps and links to UT.

Into town on two wheels

Swap the lakeside for streets of wooden houses and street art in Flekkefjord. Our cycle map shows the connection around Nulandsvika and onwards into town.

Practicalities on site

Showers are included, and the shared kitchen is available to all guests.

Give Selura a whole day

One more night leaves time for another swim and that mini golf rematch.
